If you would like us to add fisherman to your charter we can do that but in no case can you cancel and get a refund because we were unable to add anyone to your charter. Big Jim’s Charters offers private, exclusive salmon, halibut, and whale-watching charters from Fisherman’s Bend Marina in Auke Bay, Alaska. Each 30-foot, 6-pack boat carries no more than six guests plus one captain and one deck hand, and no other guests are added to your charter unless you request it. Base rates cover parties of one to four, with per-person pricing for additional guests up to six.
Salmon-only charters are $950 for 4 hours, $1,300 for 6 hours, and $1,600 for 8 hours, with an 8-hour Salmon Deluxe Charter to Icy Strait for $1,700. Halibut-only or halibut and salmon combo charters are $1,400 for 4 hours, $1,800 for 6 hours, and $2,100 for 8 hours, with an 8-hour Deluxe Charter to Icy Strait for $2,300. Whale-watching and wildlife tours are $700 for 3 hours, $800 for 4 hours, $1,200 for 6 hours, and $1,400 for 8 hours. All rates cover one to four guests, with extra guests up to six charged per person, and all prices are subject to Juneau’s 5% sales tax.
